TaeKwonDo is built around 5 tenets:

Courtesy

Integrity

Perseverance

Self-Control

Indomitable Spirit

Welcome to Cross Roads Martial Arts.  Our school teaches physical fitness through the ancient Korean art of TaeKwonDo.

Integrating physical training - strength, flexibility, and endurance - with mental focus and discipline, students of TaeKwonDo develop health and physical fitness while learning self defense, boosting confidence, relieving stress, and discovering the ability to "push the envelope," achieving well beyond previous limits.  Our friendly atmosphere and supportive training staff provide a learning experience that is both challenging and fun.  Come and discover the benefits of martial arts for you.

Why study TaeKwonDo?

Often self-defense is the reason that most become interested in TaeKwonDo.  There are, however; many other reasons to study;

  • physical fitness
  • weight control
  • confidence
  • self-respect & self-discipline
  • stress relief

No matter what your reasons are, soon you will become aware of the many benefits from training, both expected and unexpected.  You will become practiced in focusing your energies and thoughts.  More importantly through a series of pre-established, but attainable goals, you will develop self-confidence and self-esteem.  You earn the rank of yellow belt, green belt, etc.  You become yellow belts, etc.  They become martial artists.  This has great meaning and importance to any individual.

Self-esteem, self-respect, self-discipline, self-confidence, these are rewards greater than any trophy that is placed on a shelf or wall.  These are the things that they will carry with you in school and throughout your daily life.

Who should study TaeKwonDo?

Children as young as 5 are ready to begin studying TaeKwonDo, and there is no upper age limit - you are never too old to learn!  Students are encouraged to learn at their own pace, steadily increasing skill as ore advanced techniques build naturally while basics are mastered.  Flexible class times and scheduling can integrate with even the busiest schedules, and benefits gained will far outweigh time invested.

TaeKwonDo has no season and we train, practice and study throughout the year.  As a result you can make your own personal decisions, for other events and activities, sports season, school activities.  CRMA understands that these can be busy and hectic times for both young and old, and we can certainly accommodate life choices. When you are ready, we will be here and waiting your return.

TaeKwonDo as a Sport

Throughout the year, tournaments are sponsored by local schools, providing events for spectators, competition, fun and trophies.  There are even state, regional, and national championship opportunities. In addition, CRMA offers special training programs for these competitors.

CRMA encourages participation in tournaments.  Training competitors and sending them to not only local tournament but also regional and  national level tournaments.

Click here Tournaments  for some more information about tournaments.

Self-Defense

We also have a program enabling you to use proven principles to survive a life threatening confrontation.  This program is based on simple, easy to perform moves, with the concept of Cause & Effect.  One of the first things you learn is how to shut down the attacker’s brain.  “Shut down the brain and you shut down the attack.”
